The National Commission for Women has urged the victim of the rape incident that took place eight years ago to seek justice and take action against the culprits. The commission made the request following a press release issued by the commission today stating that a contestant of a beauty pageant had been allegedly raped and sexually abused her by the organizers.
The statement said, “The security forces have already brought the culprit under the ambit of action. The commission draws the attention of investigators for further investigate of the incident and provide justice to the victims through impartial investigation and to take legal action against the perpetrators.”
The commission has also drawn the attention of the government and the security agencies for proper arrangements for the health and safety of the victim. The Commission believes in zero tolerance towards heinous crimes such as sexual crimes and rape.
The commission is coordinating and cooperating with the victims, the government and the security agencies and the committee has requested for the necessary cooperation of all parties for the impartial investigation in this regard.
