Hearing of two proposed ambassadors halted

Kathmandu, 21 May: The parliamentary hearing of the two proposed ambassadors has been stopped after a complaint was lodged alleging that they were ineligible to become ambassadors. The hearing of proposed Nepali Ambassador to Sri Lanka  Basudev Mishra and  Ambassador to Denmark is Ramswarth Roy has been halted.

Mishra, the proposed ambassador to Sri Lanka, has been accused of obtaining an Indefinite Live to Stay (ILR) in the UK. He is also accused of obtaining a master’s degree from a college not recognized by the British government.

Complaints have also been lodged against Ramswarth Roy, the proposed ambassador to Denmark. Roy has been accused of committing irregularities while staying at Dhanusha Science Campus in Janakpur. In the complaint, it has been claimed that the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has already filed a corruption case against him and the case is under consideration.
