Kathmandu, 20 May: A contestant of a beauty pageant held eight years ago has made public the incident of being raped and sexually abused by the organizers. Participants in the 2014 Miss Global International pageant said she was first raped by the organizers at a hotel and raped and sexually abused for six consecutive months by blackmailing photos and videos taken there.
She revealed the details of the incident in a video from Tiktok on Wednesday and Instagram on Thursday. In the video, she said that she had keen interest in modeling since childhood and auditioned in the House of Fashion after passing the class 12 exam. Although she was not selected, she said that after her photos became public, Visa Global Consultancy offered her a ‘photo shoot’.
“I was very excited when the offer came. The consultant and a photographer did a photo shoot for me. The consultant paid me five thousand rupees,” she said. “I was ready to participate. ” She not only participated in the Miss Global International pageant, but also won the first runner-up crown. After that, the organizers of the competition called her and told her that a ‘success party’ was going to be held at the Everest Hotel in New Baneshwor and she did not see any other participants when she went there. She said that the organizers lied to her saying that others would come later, gave her drinks and after some time she felt dizzy and uncomfortable but was not allowed to go home and was raped.
